Zach and Abby met the new-fashioned way, via Bumble, a dating app. For their first date, the two agreed to ride their bikes to a new outdoor beer garden that was halfway between their apartments, the Dequindre Cut Freightyard. They played giant Connect4 and got tacos at the food truck before parting ways. Later that night, Zach sent Abby a text, describing her ‘red flags’ including that her eyes were too blue and mesmerizing, that she had a cat and he was a dog person, and that she was a messy taco eater. Somehow, Zach was able to look past these red flags and they have been together ever since. They moved in together in March 2020 (coincidentally during the very first week of the pandemic) and adopted a second kitty together in September 2021, officially converting Zach to being a cat person.
